Pure silver Meenakari enamel painted chess set featuring Kings and Queens as Indian Figurine Elephant, Howdah and Maharajahs, Camels for Bishops, Horses with riders for Knights, Elephants for Rooks and Foot Soldiers as Pawns. Based on the original ivory Jaipur enameled and bejeweled chessmen of the 19th c. Hafner Collection, the color palate in the Varanasi tradition of blue and green, embellished with white, pink and other colors and decorated with faux ruby cabochon mounts, pendant pearls on the howdah awnings. Approx. King size 3.75" tall with 2.5" x 2" base. Tiny bits of enamel scraped over time but overall everything is in excellent condition. Box / Board not included.
