Very unique collectible Chess Set produced in Aluminium by ALUFA Aluminium Company as executive gifts for their top clients and executives. Similar sets were made by Alcoa and these sets are now very collectible and highly sought after. This set is even more rare, beautiful and elegant. The pieces were cut from aluminium bars; the silver in a natural aluminium finish; the black differentiated by black anodized finish. This set is complete and comes in its original presentation box which is in very good Vintage condition. The presentation box measures approximately 10 by 9 inches. The size of the chess pieces are as follows:
Kings = 2.5" tall; Queens = 2.375"; Bishops = 2.125"; Knights = 2"; Rooks = 1.75"; Pawns = 1.5" tall. This set is complete and is in very good to excellent Vintage condition, no breaks, cracks, repairs, etc. Amazing design and precision production.
Additional information 2020: A unique chess game, made on the occasion of the merger of the company Alufa into Mifa. Guests were invited with a King from this chess set and were given the complete set at the reception afterwards. The pieces were shaped, sawn and anodized by Mifa themselves. Mifa was the first company of Jan Aalberts. Today, Aalberts Industries is a global company with more than 2.6 billion sales turnover. This chess set is unique, possibly some one hundred items were made at the time.
