Description: Way back in the 1960s Jesus & Javier Carbajales designed a wonderful chess set which they sold to sailors who made their way into Montevideo, Uruguay in South America. Over the years they made many versions and this is a beautiful one in a wonderful wooden chest. All 32 pieces are individually carved and painted before firing in the kiln at over 2,000 degrees. No two sets are alike and the chest they come in adds a wonderful touch. P2018.
