| Description: | Both sides natural Ivory with Schreger lines very visible. "Black" side is marked with red rings on the bases of all 16 pieces. All pieces marked with black rings on the underside around the area where the "stem" screws into the base. Excellent condition. Observations: Each side has three bishops (instead of two), one of which is a little shorted and is actually used for pawn. Seems to be by design. Likely late 1800 or early 1900 not later that 1930. Sale. |
