Description: Multimedia - wood, cloth, gemstones, moving arms. Javanese Wayang tradition. Wayang Kulit (Golek ) is a traditional form of puppet-shadow play originally found in the cultures of Java and Bali in Indonesia. This set includes figures from the Hindu epic poem Mahabharata, Battle of Kurukshetra. The Kurukshetra War arising from a dynastic struggle between two groups of cousins, the Kauravas and the Pandavas, for the throne of Hastinapura. The war laid the foundation for the events of the Bhagavad Gita.
