Description: Vintage. Fantastic. See relates chess set. Hans Teppich handmade, cast bronze. Engraved Israel in English and Jerusalem in Hebrew. Excellent condition with some aging marks. One candle cup cracked. Teppich s characteristic design. Hans Teppich was born in Germany in 1904. After finishing school in Berlin, he learned art in evening classes and continued further studies for ten years, acquiring skill in broad range of art including drawing, sculpture, metalwork, bronze casting, metal turning, and interior design. He won many prizes for his artwork such as bronze and stone sculptures of animals, which were exhibited in Berlin Zoo. In 1933 he immigrated to Israel and established a workshop in Jerusalem, creating Menorahs, candlesticks, Mezuzahs, spice boxes, jewelry and chess sets. He became famous for his Biblical figures and Judaic items. Sale.
