| Description: | Incredibly beautiful chess set in custom wooden box with storage and playing board. Pieces seem to be hand carved in natural fossilized materials. Pawns seems to be natural fossilized coral; the major pieces carved in fossilized bone, coral or other natural material, possibly amber. The custom board has a pull out drawer where the pieces are stored, standing upright, each in its own padded compartment. All in all, just a fantastic piece of art. The chess pieces are in excellent condition, very little aging or damage. The table / board shows a little sign of aging with a couple of small areas where the veneer cracks / buckles. Excellent condition and beauty. The chess pieces representing sea life theme, traditional Kings, Queens as mermaids, Bishops as stylish fish, Knights as seahorses, Rooks as sea orchids and pawns as reef corals. These are all mounted on a sea-floor base and protective under-base and connected with custom brass posts going through the center and resting in special recess area carved in the under-base.
