| Description: | A vintage, rare and beautiful nautical chess set. Exquisitely hand made in Gleneg, a small village on the northwest of Scotland, of local sea shells and well executed. Each piece has been individually crafted with several different shells with nice artistic details and touch yet maintaining the overall Staunton appearance. This very attractive, delicate, ornamental artisan chess set is suitable for play as well. Must have been painstaking long hours to collect the proper shells, match and construct this fantastic piece of art. Stickers on the underside of the pieces read "GLENEG SHELLCRAFT" by artist "KYLE OF LOCHALSH".
The set is stored in a matching decorative box made of Mahogany with decorative lid of several sea shells and Starfish. Condition is near mint and excellent craftsmanship considering is is made of naturally "found" materials. Sale. |
