Description: By artist Garanin. Usually, each piece is signed at the bottom underside but this set has felt which needs to be removed to check that. Board signed both front and back by artist and factory seal. Yuri Garanin has been an artist at Gzhel since 1980, renown creator of sculptures, chandeliers, chess-boards, and coffee-sets. His work is presented in The Museum of Folk Arts - Moscow, The State Russian Museum, The Museum of Gzhel.

Sold This is an amazing set in mint condition. Hand made and painted. Board measures 16" x 16" inches and is mounted on four corner raised pedestals. It has been damaged but repaired and reinforced. It is solid and is suitable for play and display. Sale.
