Description: Leonardo Da Vincoi Chess Men - Set From Paciolis De Ludo Scachorum 1500 A beautiful High Renaissance chess design, from the recently discovered manuscript by the preeminent Renaissance mathematician Luca Pacioli. Leonardo Da Vinci, possibly the most revered artist of all time, served as illustrator for Pacioli, and may have designed or illustrated this 1500 chess treatise. These chessmen are crafted of boxwood and finished with a matte enamel coating. The pieces are felted and weighted and stored in a wooden box. Sale.
