| Description: | Unique. Fantastic. Pieces marked and dated on Knights, one of each side 1905. White Knight is also stamped with Manufacturer(?) logo, black knight with Owner (?) initials (could be G?C.) Pieces made of bronze/brass and coated one side black the other chrome. Box Mahogany (?), 13" x 13" x 5.5". Under the lid are two top trays - bottom one with custom holes for the pieces to be placed hanging upside down, felted upwards. The top tray is solid, felted downwards. Seems to have been used to keep the pieces tight to prevent damage. Both trays have two corresponding matching "finger holes" to help lift the pieces out of and place them back into the box. Lock and key in good working condition. Everything screaming Jaques but could not find markings other than the ones described above and the marking of the lock. |
